5/2/00 - Ordered my af/x udp. Its beautiful! Too bad i have to install this on the car. It's trully a work of art. Install was a snap. Manifold is on the car. 58mm tb is on the car. Mopar Race Header is on the way! And along the way i bought thermal r&d and fabbed a EGR block plate. Oil has been changed regularly, Mobil1 5w30 oil and filter. Coolant flush as result of manifold swap and mishap on my part. My neon is running great! New set of koni's go great length to providign very adjustable ride. May 13 is 2000 season first time trial event.

4/24/00 - CNNP finally delivers. Work is sub-par. I was expecting much better quality. I am happy its in my hands and now my dremel and I can massage it properly. I will be port matching tb and head and manifold to the gasket.

4/24/00 - CNNP finally delivers. Work is sub-par. I was expecting much better quality. I am happy its in my hands and now my dremel and I can massage it properly. I will be port matching tb and head and manifold to the gasket. Few Auto-x under my belt, i am proud to say, alignment is VERY important in proper handling car. I put my car sideways moretime than i can care to share.

3/19/00 - CNNP still has not delivered. No surprise there. Local autocross club has events coming up. I can't wait! Drove down to D.C. to met with DaveRT who was kind enough to drive up from Atlanta with my race tires. He was on route to Gary Howell's shop to do soem "shopping."

2/27/00 - CNNP says next week. Good thing i am patient person. Energy Suspension kit is installed. Ride quality remains about the same. Alignment has gone to @#%@. Pair of used koni up front provide some adjustability.

1/18/00 - Manifold is a working progress. I am still running autotb on my car. Mopar pcm kicks ass. Indiglo gauges and neon string has been installed. A blue dome light bulb (bad idea) was also installed. Also installed is iceman i purchased from Jeff Conti. Thanx Jeff.

12/20/99 - Mopar performance PCM arrives in the mail. I rush off to work, borrow some tools from maintenance guys n swap pcm in the visitor parkign area. Higher rev limiter and nice low end punch make thsi a very affordable upgrade. I bought a spare dohc intake manifold from Kevin Daigle who shipped it to CNNP Racing for porting. Cory @ Modern Performance assisted me in acquiring a 58mm tb. I took a while, but he finally delivered.

11/27/99 - Alarm door lock and start kill relays installed. After many blown fuses and running out of patience, i break down and buy service manual from Haynes. It shows simplified wiring harness for the door lock mechanism. I realize i have to cut, wires that i didn't want to cut for locks to operate remotely. Install went smoothly thereafter.

6/7/99 - Alot has happened since my last updates to my page. On May 15 i went to Pocono Raceway to participate in an event sponsored by EMRA (Eastern Motor Racing Association). The cost for the event was a steep $120, but it was very well worth it. The course was very hard on my tires. The stock GoodYear RS-a's were not meant for that type of punishment. A month after the event and they still show signs of the beating they received.

3/18/99 - My first visit to 1/4 mile track happened on March 13,199. I had quite a blast. I ran a best of 16.172sec. for a mostly stock set-up. Only mods at the time are homemade filled FMM (discussed below) and k&n cone fltercharger.Of course there was expected riced out rides and plain jane beasts running 12's. I had 3 runs at the 1/4 and here are scans of timeslips. . My friend Joe managed to catch my runs on video. I digited them and have them available for viewing. They are in .mpg format. E-mail me if you have trouble viewing the clips. Click Here for directory listing of video clips. Here are the pictures from track and Pit area. Expect more soooon!

3/07/99 - I put in McGard wheel lock nuts. Also installed mandrel bent 2.5" OD elbow between stock intake and my k&n filter. The growl... unmistakeable! This morning i took off the FMM(Front Motor Mount) and after going thru my options decided to fill it with thin gasket type rubber sheet i had laying around the garage. I have a light more vibration when goin in reverse and engaging 1st, but after that, its all smiles. Awesome burn-outs and crisp shifts!... and wheel hop gone too :) Click Here for pics of filled FMM. Email me if u want more details.

2/28/99 - One boring saturday decided to strap camcorder to passenger seat and take neon for a spin (day or so after installing a k&n cone on end of stock intake). The growl in incredible! I ordered tubing to construct my custom intake... should arrive some time next week. Back to camcorder... here are the movie clips , both in AVI format. I have since returned mudflaps (as they are ugly as sin or some similiar appropriate word).

2/18/99 - I decided to get serious with my intake and start getting parts i need to build it. I started off w/ k&n air filter. I ordered part # Ru 3560 and it arrived next day at local k&n dealer.... which i got lost trying to find... yeah i asked for directions. So flange looks smaller than advertised 2.5".. what to do... what to do. I removed stock airbox, filter, snorkel and mounting bracket and snugged the filter onto end of stock intake pipe. I had to put a blanking plug over the whole where the hair horn was previously connected. The result at awesome growl at wot!

1/12/99 - Apparently twits at dealer (Elm Dodge in Kearny, NJ) forgot to look into the squeak and there still water in parking light. Ok, so one more day in my beater... god i'm scared to drive the dam old thing - more rust than metal! ... and squeak returns :P

1/7/99 - My first trip to dealer! Arghh! With all the built in zip, fit n finish i am assuming took a back seat! Yup, my dash on passenger side developed a squeak, i got water condensation in parking light and sunroof cover wont fully retract... So i'm driving a beater 83 Datsun(Nissan) Sentra while my baby in the shop. OK, so now my sunroof cover works again! Hmmm dash was quiet for about a mile... then (yup you guessed it), the squeak returned! I can live with that till it gets warmer so i can tackle it myself.

12/7/98 - Got my 1999 Dodge Neon R/T. It is loaded with power locks, windows, mirrors, sunroof, till, cruise and all other goodies you get from R/T package. My first impressions are... wOw ! it moves ! Ok, so a litle history, i had a 1.6L 1991 Geo Prizm which translates into a Toyota Corolla in disguise! It was very dependable method of transportation, but i was looking at adding a bit more zoom to my drive! Oh yeah, it was a automatic!!! Arghhh... can you say slow... Well, wasn't that slow, if you floored it, it would hold gear till redline - minor adjustable of throttle cable.

I'll still new to neon performance scene, so as you can guess its all stock. I should say it will remain that way until weather get a bit warmer, even though a SuperStrapp muffler would be a neat weekend project. Maybe these sub-freezing temperatures will let up enough for me to have some fun. Here a sneak preview on my custom designed intake.
